Training and Facilitating

Training and Facilitating

Employee training and development forms part of all companies’ day to day activities. Whether on a small scale or large, employees are always in need of new skills and competencies. If you are someone who is directly involved with the training and development of others inside your own company it is just as important for you to spend time increasing your own skills when it comes to training, facilitating and coaching. At Maurice Kerrigan Africa we can help you achieve this goal and increase your skills as a developer of people. Have a look at our training and facilitating courses below.

3 – Day Effective Facilitating Course

Our Effective Facilitation skills training programme will teach you to facilitate any type of group session, from technical scenarios, like business process re-engineering to more strategic discussions, such as problem-solving or decision-making sessions.

Programme Details

Over three days, we’ll teach you the facilitation skills, tools and techniques you need to effectively guide the content and process of a group session. The facilitator training course will cover topics such as understanding what facilitation skills mean in the context of the modern work environment; knowing the core competencies of a good facilitator; understanding the values, qualities and characteristics of an effective facilitator; planning, implementing and managing a facilitative process; a facilitation skills ‘toolbox’ from which you can draw the most appropriate and suitable tools and techniques for a given session.

3 – Day Trainer Development Programme

Our Trainer Development Programme is a ‘train the trainer’ course recognising that in the majority of cases, trainers deliver material that they themselves didn’t create. This means that as a trainer, your style may often be restricted, unless you are able to make the content your own. In addition, adopting a ‘pull’ learning approach where delegates come to their own learning conclusions is more effective for adult training, but demands an advanced skills set from you, the trainer.

Programme Details

This ‘train the trainer’ course is ideal for anyone who’s required to deliver effective adult training, regardless of your level of experience. This includes trainers, as well as subject matter experts, who are technically competent and have experience in a specific area but who are required to impart this knowledge to fellow employees as part of their job description.
